The Postgraduate Teaching Awards – Undergraduate students vote here and recognise postgraduate students who teach at Victoria running lectures, labs or tutorials. The PGSA will tally the votes to find one finalist from each Faculty. Each finalist will be invited to the PGSA Victoria’s Awards Reception on 30 November, where we’ll announce the winners.
PGSA Landers Postgraduate Award
– is awarded for “the contribution of one postgraduate student in fostering the stated ideals of the Postgraduate Students’ Association. That student will have demonstrated a commitment to fostering camaraderie and collective consciousness among his/her colleagues in the postgraduate community”. The Landers Award policy can be found here
. Each faculty nominates a postgraduate student who they think is worthy of this award and then postgraduates vote for the winner. The Faculty nominees will all be invited to attend the PGSA Victorias Awards Reception on 30 November where the award winner will be formally announced.
Professional Staff Award – recognises a staff member who has contributed to your postgraduate study experience at VUW. This might be someone who has inspired you, helped you beyond the call of duty, or simply made your time at VUW more enjoyable. This could be anyone at all – from Student Services, the library, your School Administrator or Associate Dean of Students. How has this staff member contributed to your postgraduate study experience?
Supervisor Award – recognises a staff member who is available, intellectually stimulating, encourages research excellence, provides timely relevant feedback, facilitates your professional growth and builds your academic autonomy and capability. Please nominate a postgraduate Supervisor and explain (using specific examples) how they match the listed criteria. Remember: the more information we have about your nomination, the more likely they are to receive an award.
